Pamela L. Malone is the Program Manager of the Palavra Tree Teen Recovery Center and has a long history of working with a great community organizer and coalition builder- her father.  She is the eldest daughter of the late, Dr. Cleo Malone who was the Founder and Executive Director of the Palavra Tree, Inc. from the beginning of its operations in1983 until his untimely death in 2008.  Pamela’s primary focus in life is to follow in her father’s footsteps and continue his hard work, legacy and fulfill his dreams of eliminating alcohol, tobacco and other drug use among our youth.

The Palavra Tree, Inc. Teen Recovery Center was created out of the need to reduce the accessibility of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs use in the City and County of San Diego. Dr. Malone wanted to eliminate the problematic use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs and develop a community based alcohol, tobacco and other drugs prevention, recovery and treatment center that would promote healthier lifestyles and help change negative behaviors. His dream was to create an environment that would reduce and eliminate the problematic use of legal and illegal drugs in our communities.
