San Ysidro Health is here for you if you are sick with COVID-19.If you have received a positive result from a COVID-19 test, please notify your healthcare provider immediately. Treatments for COVID-19 are available and they work best if given early. Your healthcare provider can help you determine if you need treatment and prescribe medication over the phone.

COVID-19 Treatment

San Ysidro Health is here for you if you are sick with COVID-19.

If you have received a positive result from a COVID-19 test, please notify your healthcare provider immediately. Treatments for COVID-19 are available and they work best if given early. Your healthcare provider can help you determine if you need treatment and prescribe medication over the phone.

Some cases of COVID-19 can be more severe than others. If you have any of the symptoms below, contact your healthcare provider, go to the emergency room, or call 911:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion
  • Inability to wake or stay awake
  • Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone

This list is not all possible symptoms. Please call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you.

Treatment Options for COVID-19:

San Ysidro Health is offering the following treatments for non-hospitalized patients and community members with COVID-19:

Paxlovid

San Ysidro Health providers can order the drug Paxlovid to be given to patients for treatment of COVID-19 at our pharmacy locations.  

Paxlovid is for patients ages 12 and older who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are at risk of developing severe COVID-19. Pills are taken over several days and must be started within 5 days of when your symptoms first began. San Ysidro Health pharmacies can also deliver Paxlovid directly to your home if you are not able to send someone to pick up your prescription.

Monoclonal Antibody Treatment

San Ysidro Health is no longer providing monoclonal antibody treatments for COVID-19. If you are interested in monoclonal antibody treatments, please visit the County of San Diego's MARC webpage by clicking here.

Please also check with your school, employer, and others on their quarantine requirements after receiving a positive test. 

For parents, if your child has been exposed at school but does not have symptoms, please follow your child’s school guidelines regarding testing. In most cases you do not need to contact your child’s doctor for another test.
